About Me I found digital scrapbooking on the web through an absolute fluke while looking for some graphics for a card....I am so glad I did, it truly has become my passion along with my hobby. Along with encouragement from a small group on the net, and in the process of meeting others on the net who shared my passion, I decided to try my hand at design! Wow, the first few months were rough, and I look back now and cringe at the things I thought were over the top in the design world. To be perfectly honest, my first few thoughts were, "Open a website, and make tons of dough!" So I gave myself 6 months of watching others, marking trends, and seeing how others were doing it. After 6 months, I began to see the frustration of my fellow designers. These are some fabulous ladies (and yes, even a few men) who really put their life blood into their work. I saw many of them leave the "scrapping for joy" world, and step into the "marketing world". Where countless hours were spent not just designing (hey that's the fun part) but finding a creative team, posting in galleries, hosting crops, packaging kits, and so much more. I think a lot of them lost some of their joy for scrapbooking those precious memories. And to be perfectly honest, I didn't want to be one of them. I realized that I did not truly want to spend hours and hours doing all of the above. I wanted to have time to scrap my family, and feed my digital design obsession without the constraints of running a business. I watched Janniscraps and Nana's Attic go to members only due to piracy. I completely understand. I thought about that too. And I thought, and thought and thought, yet had no peace about it. I sure would like a couple of hundred extra dollars for my efforts. Being a woman of simple faith, I took it to my ladies prayer group at church. To Do~or Not To Do, that was the question, and has been the prayer for over 6 months now. You see, I have this passion also for Mom's who stay at home, who sacrifice finances to make a better world for their children. Put aside career and pleasures to be there for them. So I decided that if it ever came around to me selling, I would like to make it affordable and available to those on a budget! So, as of today, January 1st, 2008, I'm still doing freebies on my blog. However, after leaving them up for a while, I will add them to my site for purchase. Keeping them cheap cheap cheap for those who missed them or are new to digital scrapbooking. I am hoping that other freebie designers will join me in my newest venture, "Scrapdebris", a one stop "Flea Market" of sorts for those to stop by and pick up a kit or two, at an affordable rate!
